If you are a real estate agent, you know that when someone is looking to buy or sell a home, they have many options with whom to choose for their agent. One thing that sets you apart from the competition is having powerful testimonials on your website. One recent study from Boast.com found that having customer testimonials is the highest effective form of content marketing. A potential client already feels confident in your abilities if the first thing they see is past clients writing about the positive experience they had. If you are new to the business but have already had a few clients, the thing to do is ask them for a testimonial. Examples of questions to ask are

“What made you choose me as your agent for selling your home?”

“Would you recommend me to someone you know that is looking to buy or sell?”

“What is something specific I did that made this process easier on you?”

“What sets me apart from previous real estate agents that you have worked with in the past?”

Be sure to ask your past clients to be specific. You want testimonials that highlight certain aspects of you and particular ways you made the client feel calm and comfortable. don’t be shy! Clients are always willing to give positive feedback when they feel taken care of. Another way of getting testimonials is sending out surveys for past clients to fill out once their buying or selling process is complete. Surveys are a great way of getting just the right testimonial because you can ask more specific questions and get more specific answers as well.

Once you have the amount of testimonials that you need, put them on your website where potential clients can see them almost immediately. Make a testimonial page on your website that potential clients can click on and read. You want several outstanding reviews highlighting your hard work and dedication so that right off the bat, people are much more likely to contact you and choose you as their agent. Be sure to share your testimonials on social media sites like Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. Add a picture of your clients with their testimonials as well. Adding a personal touch like a photo makes potential clients feel comfortable knowing that the testimonials they are reading are coming from truly satisfied people. Make sure and link your testimonials page from your website to all of your social media accounts as well, and always update all of your sites when you get a new review. Another great source for clients to leave feedback are sites like Yelp, Angie’s List, and Zillow. When asking a client for their feedback, be sure to have them also go on these sites and give positive reviews. The more places someone can see outstanding feedback, the more likely it is that you will win their business. Follow these easy steps to obtaining and sharing powerful testimonials, and your real estate career will be a successful one.
