Most marketers will tell you that you need consistent, high-quality content to stand out on social media. Although this is true, it is easier said than done. You may be able to create one high-quality piece per month, but is that enough to move your social media marketing needle?

Hardly.

If you have been a real estate agent for a while, there’s one asset you can use to change this – your knowledge and experience. Unlike homebuyers, you have more knowledge about what goes into buying or selling a house.

Using this knowledge as a tool to educate prospects can be a great way to find success in social media marketing.

How do you use your knowledge to accomplish this? Let me explain.

Create Content Daily

Now before you cry foul, this is not just another one of those “do what you must” kind of tips. What I mean here is carve out time to talk to your prospects. Imagine you had an early morning (or late evening) appointment with a lead.

They want you to talk to them about a certain topic. If they were seated before you in person, don’t you think it would be easy to talk to them for an hour or so, going deep into the topic to really educate them?

If you approach creating educational content this way, chances are you will not struggle. At the same time, creating such content will give you a steady stream of highly-relevant content that you can share with your social media followers.

Use Nuggets of Wisdom to Fill the Gaps

Now that you are creating amazing longer-form content, you cannot post five of these every day. To fill in the gaps and stay top-of-mind with your followers, use nuggets of wisdom.

These are short (50 words or less) pieces of evergreen wisdom that you pass on to your followers.

Some ideas of what you can post include tips and tricks, how-to snippets, “did you know” kind of content and simple lessons or takeaways.

Such evergreen content will live on within your feed allowing anyone who scrolls through your feed to find relevant and useful content, even if they scroll back a year.

Sell Ideas, not Houses

Novice real estate agents think buyers want to buy homes. Experienced real estate agents know people buy dreams and ideas, not bricks and mortar.

The thing is, even buyers themselves cannot distinguish between the two. Most buyers think they want to buy a home but what they really want is to realize a dream or actualize an idea.

As an experienced agent, it is your duty to use your knowledge and experience to help your clients make this distinction.

To help them realize that what they really want is to see their dreams come true – and that you, as their prospective agent, can help them achieve this.

Through content that addresses issues around this, you can educate your prospects and give them a better shot at realizing their deepest desires as regards purchasing a home.

Conclusion

With so much information on the Internet today, buyers are searching for human guides to help them make sense of it all.

They are looking for experienced and knowledgeable people to help them cut out all the noise and get that which they are looking for – the answers to their questions.

As you use your knowledge to educate your social media followers, you will be helping meet this need. When you do this, when your followers are ready to buy, they will come to you.
