Over 80 million businesses have Facebook pages and use them to reach the over 1.5 billion Facebook users who frequent the platform daily. With the rapid growth of social selling and the move by consumers to social media platform to find businesses, it makes sense to focus your efforts on using your Facebook page to attract more leads. Facebook has also recognized this trend and continues to roll out new features to support businesses using Facebook Pages to market their services. In this article, we cover four such recent feature updates and share with you how you can use them to boost your Facebook marketing efforts.

Facebook Page Action Buttons

When most users visit a business page, they often do so with a desire to perform a certain action. This could be to visit your website, look for pricing or find a contact number to call. While previously you had to load all these details into the about section of your page, now Facebook has made it easy to add customized action buttons just below your profile image. If you are a real estate agent, you can add a button to either call or book an appointment. Other businesses like restaurants and others can also customize these buttons to the CTA that best suits their business. By activating and customizing these buttons, you can make it easy for visitors to your page to take the actions you specify in the buttons.

Facebook Recommendations

In every business, people will often turn to their friends, family, and networks to ask for recommendations. This is another trend Facebook noticed and decided to build a dedicated feature to support. Now, Facebook users can create a post that asks for recommendations to find something. In the comments, users can recommend businesses by tagging the business’s Facebook page. What is more, if someone recommends your business, the recommendation will then be visible on your page under recommendations. Further, Facebook has also implemented a feature that automatically recommends businesses near the person who asked for the recommendation. This is a great discovery tool, especially for businesses focused on selling locally.

Facebook Stories

Stories is a rapidly growing trend on social media. When Facebook implemented stories on Instagram, it went on to become one of the hottest features on the platform. Today, stories are a central part of the social media experience for Facebook users. Facebook has rolled out this feature for business pages allowing businesses to post stories visible to their followers. As a small business, this is a great way to get front and center before your audience on a frequent basis, something that may help boost your brand visibility and engage your community.

Facebook Local

The last feature we will look at is Local. Facebook is betting big on local businesses and this feature is built just for such businesses. In the Facebook app, there is an area called “Local” where Facebook users can visit to explore local businesses near them. Facebook even has a dedicated app called “Facebook Local” that allows users to explore their neighborhood to see what events are up and what businesses are around them. As a local business, this should be a helpful feature as it can help you reach your local market easier. To harness this feature, be sure to feature lots of local content so users can quickly identify with the area and your brand.
