Building a formidable presence on Facebook takes time and effort. For new agents starting from scratch, this can seem daunting. Opening a Facebook page with zero likes is both an exciting and intimidating place to be. However, there are several ways you can grow your brand on Facebook and turn it into a lead generation machine for your business. Before jumping into specific tactics, you need to know that it all starts with a compelling brand. Marketing does not change your brand; it only amplifies what you already have. So before jumping into these tactics, take a good look at your brand and ask yourself whether it has the quality and pedigree to grow into something great. The first point will help you with this.
Get Help
You have taken a good look at your brand and realize it may be wanting. That’s okay. What you need to do is get help. In the same way you have a sales coach to help you close more sales, you also need a social media marketing coach to help you understand the ins and outs of social media marketing. They will help you build a compelling brand that can capture more leads. You can also get help with how to use Facebook marketing. What kind of content should you post, when and at what velocity? Top performers know that the only way to multiply their efforts is to get help from an expert. When looking for help, avoid websites like Fiverr and other gig websites. Instead, seek out an expert who has a strong track record of helping professionals like yourself.
Niche Down
While some business experts advise to cast the net wide, and in social media, it may seem to make sense, this is not an effective strategy. While most people keep an eye on page likes and that becomes an indicator of how well their social media marketing is doing, this is a poor metric to follow. Before going after likes, you need first to identify and quantify your target market. An 18-year old teen is not a good candidate for your marketing efforts. So, while it may be easy to get this demographic to like your page and posts, they will result in no leads. Instead, define a target market that has the potential to result in leads, then create content exclusively for this niche to the exclusion of all others.
Thought Leadership
Thought leadership has become a buzzword. It has come to means someone who publishes high-quality content and who gets called to speak at conferences. While this is part of the definition, thought leadership is a much broader term. It refers to anyone who is an expert in an area and who clearly communicates this expertise to an audience. That means that even though you may not have your own podcast or your own consultancy, you can still identify and establish yourself as a thought leader to the audience you serve. In this case, by demonstrating your expertise in real estate, you can promote yourself as a thought leader to those interested in investing in real estate.
Collaborations
Competition does not always have to mean antagonism. In most cases, the target market you are gunning for is big enough to support multiple agents in the area you serve. So, instead of looking at the competition suspiciously, try to find ways you can collaborate for the mutual benefit of all parties. Consider hosting a live Facebook event with some other agents from your area where you answer questions from the audience. You can also look at ways of featuring content from other agents on your page and them yours, that way piggybacking on each other’s audience networks to grow your reach. These and other ways can help you turn your competition into allies in the quest to dominate Facebook marketing.
