Winning in the real estate game takes a lot. Grinding every day is just not enough. You must have a smart approach that helps you overcome your limitations and exceed your potential. This smart approach can be broken down into several success principles you can follow. Here, we will cover 15 of these principles.

#1 Daily prospecting: Get in touch with your database daily. Talk to them to figure out where they are in the buying or selling journey. Follow up with your leads and see who is getting into the market in the next 60 to 90 days.

#2 Extraordinary customer service: Make a mark in every prospects mind. Let them always think about you when they think of entering the market. Go over and above to always deliver extraordinary customer service.

#3 Timely responses: Timely is an understatement. You need to respond immediately whenever a lead reaches out to you. This is the idea behind speed to lead. Get back to your leads quick so they don’t turn to someone else.

#4 Stand by your word: The real estate business is all about trust. If prospects cannot trust you, they will not do business with you. Always back up your word with actions. A safe way to do this is to under promise and over deliver.

#5 Be organized: We are talking the whole nine yards here: check lists, task reminders, CRM systems, call back reminders, etc. The more organized you are, the more effective you will be in all that you do.

#6 Have a Business Plan: You know the saying; if you fail to plan you plan to fail. Don’t put in effort without knowing what you are aiming for. A business plan focuses you, so you know whether you are making progress or not.

#7 Leverage your network: This is your sphere of influence. Owing to a little thing known as six degrees of separation, your personal network, as small as it may be, can give you access to tons of leads.

#8 Open houses galore: When prospecting, few opportunities come up where you are face to face with a prospect. Open houses give you exactly this. Facetime with prospects and a chance to convince and convert.

#9 Hand-written notes: This lost art can get you noticed by your leads. Write them up and deliver them to your leads. They will remember you for this.

#10 Know your homes: The more homes you know about the more of a resource you will be to your leads. Leads always want to know you have an alternative for them if the current property does not work out.

#11 Inventory, inventory, inventory: What’s currently in the market? What’s coming soon? What just got sold? In short, know your farm. Let leads always know you can find them a home, no matter their needs.

#12 Consistent lead generation: Once you have been closing deals for a while, the next step is to figure out how to build an effective lead generation strategy. One that works consistently. Once you have this figured out, you are on your way to predictable closes every year.

#13 Referrals: Most successful real estate agents get most of their business through referrals. Get in touch with your network and other real estate agents and start building an effective referral network. But remember, referrals work both ways so remember to send business to others in your network as well.

#14 Leverage: This is what differentiates you from the rest of the pack. How are you better than other agents in your area? Why should prospects come to you? Defining this and communicating it effectively will boost your efforts significantly.

#15 Use multipliers: Multipliers are things that magnify your efforts. The most effective multiplier today is technology. Embrace technology and harness it to your advantage.
