Creating a social media marketing plan isn’t as complicated as you assume. Many people struggle to iron out the reason of creating a social media marketing plan, what it is and how do we design one for the business. It’s simple and easy.
A social media marketing plan is the visual representation of all the activities you’re going to do on social media to bring success to your business.
With the help of a social media marketing plan, you easily figure out what to post on multiple social media channels and what to say to your audience. You get to know what to post on Facebook or Instagram to increase engagement, followers, traffic and leads. But, it also depends on the content you post. You have to be the expert in the field. You have to know what you are talking about. You need to be present in the moment. Social media is the opportunity to directly connect and interact with your audience. The immediate feedback on the content can either be positive or negative. Make sure you know what you’re going to share.
In this post, I am going to help you create your own social media marketing plan using new ideas so that it becomes easy for you.
A lot of people still don’t know what to share on social media. They don’t know how to be actively present on social media. They ask how do they create content for social media?
The answer is planning. Always plan out your social media content. Make it more organized and structured so your audience appreciates that. If you have a social media plan, your audience will certainly know that you’re consistent with your updates. The reason why you need to create a social media marketing plan is that you can’t be everywhere. It’s not possible for you to brainstorm every day for the Facebook post. You can’t spend time thinking what to post on your Instagram every morning. No one has time to do all that. This is where you need to have a strategy in hand to post on social media.
I have tried to make it easier for you to create your own social media marketing plan. Furthermore, I have recorded a video of my own content marketing plan that you can watch and take notes. If you just have the basic knowledge of using Google drive or Google suite you can start today.
1- USE GOOGLE SUITE
I personally use Google suite for creating my marketing plans and other tasks to manage with my team. The process is simple and smooth. It works exactly how excel sheets work. You just need to do the basic work and then fill in the schedule.
The video illustrates what my social media content marketing plan looks like. I have already planned out a month in advance. For example, Tuesday is the day for my blog posts, Wednesday is for social media marketing videos and tutorials, Thursday is for a private group Agent Centrix where I teach other real estate agents to grow, and then Friday is where I talk about business growth in our Facebook Friday show.
That’s how I have planned my entire month. Moreover, I have inserted links which I can look to for reference and study. I have already planned out all the content ideas.
2- GATHERING SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT TO FILL THE SCHEDULE
The next step is where do I get my social media content from? How do I fill the gaps in the marketing plan? What do I talk about?
A lot of people get stuck at this step. They don’t know exactly what to post. So, I am going to help you curate content for your social media audience with new ideas.
Set Themed Days
A theme makes it easy for you to share content on social media. For example,
you can set themed days. On Wednesdays you talk about business growth. So, you have to know that you have to find out resources for business growth to help your audience by giving the information about how businesses grow. You can talk about the ups and downs. You can share your personal tips on business success. You can host an interview on that particular topic.
Now, think about your business and come up with a theme. Pick a day and talk about something relevant to your field. Maybe on Wednesdays you talk about the farm. You can probably find restaurants to interview, business owners, farmers market, and local attractions for visitors. Make that your focus. Maybe Fridays are updates on the real estate market or updates on the local listings.
Make it relevant to you and your business. But try to have a theme so that the audience will get to know that every time they visit your page on Wednesday they will get so and so updates.
Utilize Pinterest For Ideas
One of the things I do to come up with catchy titles and social media content ideas is to scroll Pinterest for ideas. The Pinterest platform is a huge source of information and ideas. Whatever field you have, Pinterest is full of creative ideas. You just need to know what you are looking for.
On Pinterest, you can find a variety of content on social media. In my video, I have shown a Pinterest image of a social media content planner for 30 days. You get to know about 30 different ideas to share on social media. Each day has got something different for you to share with your audience. It makes it easy for anyone who’s afraid to show it on social media.
For example, on Mondays, you can share tips and tricks about a particular topic. Maybe you have a tip on how to update your kitchen. On Tuesdays, you share a quote. On Wednesdays, you ask a question. On Thursdays, you share someone else’s content and mention them. On Fridays, you may share an image and ask people to comment.
Make Catchy Titles On Social Media
Try to make catchy titles to attract your social media audience. Make your titles interesting so that your audience take action and interact by liking, commenting or sharing. On social media, it is your title, short description or the image caption that pulls readers to engage.
There’s no shortage of social media topics. You just need to play around and see what’s more interesting and helpful for your audience.
If you have themed days, and you make the content interesting you’re good to
go. Plan out 30 days of content for your social media audience. See what your audience wants to know about. Then, go in deeper on the things that are winning.
