3 Steps to Close More Sales

In this post, you will get to know three tips to help you close more sales, more transactions and get more deals done in your business.

Many potential customers fail to make the purchase due to the lack of interest by the salesperson. Maybe, the salesperson doesn't discuss the product features, he doesn’t inquire about the needs of his prospects, he lacks interest in knowing the interests of his clients.

It’s no surprise that the best salesperson must possess good communication skills, talent in building a relationship with the client, knowledge to formulate questions and answers.

There’s always different components in sales. It aims at building rapport with your client. It’s even asking the right questions and it’s follow up.

Let’s discuss each step in brief.

1- BUILD RAPPORT

Rapport is huge. How you connect with people, how you relate to them and what you talk about. All these queries are essential to know more about your client needs.

There are a couple of different ways to approach the buyers. Find out more about what they are interested in. What are some things they might be searching for? What products do they usually talk about?

Then, find out a solution that is going to solve their problem. Just give them what they are looking for in a way that makes sense. Not everybody can afford the solution that makes sense to them so you always have to think outside of the box.

2- ASK THE RIGHT QUESTIONS

The key to closing more sales is to build rapport with people that you talk to. Start asking questions to find out more about their interests, and likes. Once you have built a rapport, you understand how you guys can relate. You have to mirror and match them. Try to be on the same level. You have to speak at the pace they know. You really have to get themselves involved as much as possible so they can open up to you.

If you sell houses, you may ask questions like do you need a 4 bedroom house? Do you need a single family house? Are you looking for a house on the beach? So you got to find out what your buyers are looking for. Find out those questions up front. I would prefer asking a hundred questions before recommending 5 products rather than asking 5 questions and have to show them a hundred products.

Structure your questions to tell the story. Whether you are selling something on Amazon, the questions you ask are important and how you structure those questions.

3- FOLLOW UP

The last part is follow up. Not everybody is going to walk in and be able to purchase your product i.e car, house on the first visit. Not everyone you meet is going to buy the first house you show to them. Sometimes, it may take a little bit of follow up. Maybe it’s a week or a year. They take their time to figure out things and make up their decisions.

Following up is another important part to increase sales. So, what are you doing to engage with people who you are following up with? What are you going to tell them about the product?

Your job is to put your message in front of them. Maybe you put a Facebook ad in front of them once a week. Or, maybe you put something once in month. If you keep putting the messages in front of them at the right time they will be able to buy from you. Think about your follow-up strategy.

I recommend doing an email campaign. You may think email is old school and people don’t always open it. But, if you just keep your message in front of them at the right time, they will open it and read it. Even if people are not reading or engaging your content they are still subconsciously seeing your message in the inbox.

Facebook is a great place, with over 2 billion people, to put a message in front of them. Put something that’s relevant to them. You can send your message daily, weekly or on a monthly basis.

Let me give you the last example.

If you have someone who’s looking at houses, and you know they are interested in a property in a certain area. Keep putting homes in front of them that might suit them with what they are looking for. Maybe you also tell them about the market, interest rates, new restaurants in the locality, new parks. Again, you are getting them excited to be a homeowner in that area. But, you can’t force them to buy. And when the right time comes, they will be ready and buy it.

So, always follow up.

These are my 3 main tips to close more sales. Start building rapport, asking questions and doing follow-ups. These three steps will certainly help you get more sales to your business.
