Re-Marketing Tactics that Work
Some marketing tactics are very effective for some businesses and others don’t work at all. Mostly, these are Facebook remarketing tactics.
If you are spending money on Facebook, and you’re not getting the results that you’re looking for it’s maybe because you’re not retargeting the audience. Maybe, you just do one-and-done post and expect people to take an action from that but nothing is happening. Facebook allows you to retarget people which basically means if they came, saw an ad and nothing happened you can actually put a message in front of them through a different way. Whether they visit a website, or they open an email they get the same message again. Basically, this means Facebook allows you to retarget people based of specific actions that they maybe have taken previously.
1- Visiting a specific website
Let’s say you have a landing page in your business and people don’t fill out the information you were hoping to get so you try to get an email address, number, name or anything from visitors. This way, you can actually reach them, target these people and say, “Hey, I noticed you came to my website, but didn’t take an action. Here’s something else I want to offer you”
I’m also going to use an example from the real estate business. Most real estate agents will take a landing page, direct traffic to it in hopes to get an email address or phone number about a potential buyer or somebody who’s thinking about selling a home. What you can do is retarget them and say, “Hey, Have you been thinking about selling your home. I noticed that you visited my website. Here’s something else I can do for you.”
So, it may be the landing page or it can be a spot on your website. Using this technique, you can target the traffic that comes to your website and people who didn’t take a specific action and you can try to put a new message in front of them. Because putting an ad in front of the audience helps to engage with them.
But, make it very specific.
2- Blog reader
Maybe, you’ve got a lot of content. Maybe, lots of blogs. Maybe, people search for something that you have written about. They come and find you from Google. They’re not going to know who you are. They’re not going know your brand. They’re going to read one page and probably move on.
So, know the articles you’re writing. Know what you’re writing about. Make it specific. Don’t just write a general broadcast. For example when I was reading about buying a camera recently. The website owner is probably gonna knows that I could produce vlogs like this one. He can remark to me and say, “I provide this and I can do that for you. Since you are a Vlogger, here’s some information that may help you in your business.”
Basically, you can target people that visit your Vlog.
3- Past Customers
I was reading an article that said about half of the US products sold are to past customers. So a second purchase. Those are the easiest to convert because they know you, they trust you, the way you offer, they know how to do business with you and hopefully, they like what you offer.
You can actually target people who bought something from you and try to position something else in front of them. Whether it’s an upsell, or any other product, or just using your product the second time. This is a great way to retarget your past customers and work with them.
However, there’s all sorts of deep steps in how to find these people. But, just know it’s easier to do on facebook and that’s available to you.
4- Newsletter Subscribers
You may send out newsletters weekly or monthly. And, you get people who read and watch every single content that you put in your newsletter. Then, there are some people who never open the newsletter.
What you’re going to do is actually retarget those people who didn’t open your newsletter and try to put content on Facebook. Maybe, those people don’t read their emails very often. By putting an ad in front of them on Facebook can help to bring them back on your page. Having viewers on your blog helps to convert them. It helps to sell the story of what you do and who you are.
5- Abandoned Cart
You can target the people who put items in their cart and did’t buy something from you. After a couple of weeks, put a message in front of them and say, “Here is 10% off. Or, for a limited time in the month of October, we are gonna be offering this much of a discount on these items.”
Make the message specific. Put something else in front of them so they come back to you and make a purchase.
So, those were my 5 remarketing tactics that work. But again, they don’t all work for every business plan. One or two will probably help you in your business.
Happy Marketing!
