If you are in business, you probably need lead generation in marketing, phone calls, cards to generate business for you.
Outbound phone calls is another popular way for the business lead generation. Since I’ve worked with several companies and helped their businesses I thought to discuss effective tips that you can use for your business too. Through phone calls, we used to encourage buyers to purchase the products. You can easily make calls to motivate people and make them your customers.
Here, I’m discussing 5 tips that I found helpful in my business.
1- SCHEDULER
You have to plan for your lead generation. Whether it’s 9-12, 8-10, 4-6 or even whole day put it on your calendar. Make the calendar available for your team, co-ordination members etc.
Make it happen and let everybody know about it! When you are in lead gen mode, no one interrupts you as you want to make it happen!
Don’t forget to keep the calendar updated time to time.
2- STAND UP
Stand tall. Have some energy!
When you stand up, you get more energy and your voice conveys the message. If you sit down and use your phone talking it mostly darkens.
So, stand up, boost your energy, get things done and project your message across the phone so people can hear your voice and appreciate it.
3- ALL THE MONEY IS IN THE PREP
If you are prepped for the phone conversation and you know what you are going to say, you’ll do much better.
The idea is to get prepared for the conversation you will be make on phone. Learn to know what to talk, how you will steer the conversation, what will you convey, set out the appointment and close!
Get ready for a winning conversation.
Another big thing to consider is planning out your weeks in advance. You can take Sunday nights and plan on Monday to Friday. Get to know whom you’ll call, what you will say, what’s the next person scheduled, what’s the number etc.
Always plan out your calls. You should know how many calls you will be making? Also, note down the follow-up hours. Like, if you call Mr. smith on Tuesday at 10.00 a.m and he doesn’t answer, remind yourself about the follow-up call on Thursday at 1 pm.
Plan your weeks, and you will have better calls.
4- DON’T PRACTICE ON YOUR CLIENTS
These phone calls are too valuable. Even, if you make 250,000 calls per year your clients are too valuable to practice on. You need to have a partner for making the call practice. Even, if the partners live in another country call them and practice.
This way you can have different dialogues, scripts, and objections with your partner. By making practice calls, you will know more common objections and concerns you get from people.
If I am $100 and someone thinks it’s too expensive, what will be your response?
If I am trying to get an appointment to sell a house and they say they want to do it alone, what is your response?
Know the responses, common objections and learn how to handle them. Make yourself ready to deal with it.
But, don’t practice on your clients.
5- BRING IN SOME COMPETITION
You may have some other partners in your office. Maybe, there is another person, in addition, you want to team up with. You can even set some mutual goals, make an accountability partner and make the lead generation process interesting. Keep it competitive. Maybe, you can compete with yourself.
Find a couple of guys and make a weekly discussion call session. Make it fun and an interesting game.
Have some competition.
Okay, so these were the top 5 tips to help you with lead generation.
Here are few bonuses;
- Know the numbers. If you know your numbers, it will be a lot easier.
- Get a dialer, if possible. You can make 4 calls at a time, leaving more voicemails and messages. If you can have a phone conversation with a dialer, you can ramp up your success fast.
- Use a CRM, Customer Relationship Manager. Drop all your notes in the CRM and it will help you in follow-up. Get a CRM that works!
